Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (or peppermint extract)
  • Red and blue gel food coloring
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for rolling)
  • Optional: sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Heat heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it simmers. Remove from heat.
  2. Pour hot cream over chocolate chips in a bowl and let sit for one minute. Stir until smooth.
  3. Mix in soft butter and extract until well combined.
  4. Cover the mixture with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about two hours or until firm enough to scoop.
  5. Scoop out the ganache using a melon baller and roll into smooth balls.
  6. Optionally, tint some truffles with food coloring and roll half in cocoa powder and half in sprinkles.
