Ingredients

  • 2 black tea bags (Assam or Darjeeling)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cardamom pods (crushed)
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)
  • Sweetener to taste (honey or sugar)

Instructions

  1. Boil 2 cups of water in a saucepan over medium heat. Add crushed cardamom pods and a cinnamon stick.
  2. Once boiling, add black tea bags and steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in grated fresh ginger as the mixture simmers.
  4. Add 1 cup of milk and sweeten to taste. Heat gently until steaming but do not boil.
  5. Strain into mugs using a fine mesh sieve and serve warm.
