  • 8 oz elbow macaroni or rotini
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef with diced onions for about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir cooked pasta into the skillet with beef and onions. Add ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, and beef broth; mix well.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and stir continuously until melted and combined.
  5. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed before serving.
