  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square baking pan.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt dark chocolate and butter together until smooth.
  3. Stir in sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing until fluffy.
  4. Gently fold in cocoa powder and flour until just combined.
  5. Add fresh cherries and semi-sweet chocolate chips, folding gently.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean but slightly sticky.
