Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large loaf of crusty bread (sourdough or Italian)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup pepperoni slices, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread:
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Slice the bread diagonally in a crisscross pattern, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  2. Fill the Bread:
    • Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a bowl.
    • Gently pry apart the bread pieces and drizzle the butter mixture evenly into the cuts.
    • Stuff the mozzarella, Parmesan, and diced pepperoni into the crevices.
  3. Bake:
    • Wrap the bread in foil and bake for 15 minutes.
    • Uncover and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Serve:
    • Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Experiment with toppings like cooked sausage, diced vegetables, or black olives.
