Description

Bird’s Nest Cupcakes are delightful, whimsical treats that blend rich chocolate frosting with tender vanilla cupcakes, topped with colorful candy eggs—a perfect dessert for spring celebrations and family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for frosting)
  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar (for frosting)
  • Candy eggs (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Gradually add the flour and baking powder, alternating with milk, until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Fill each cupcake liner two-thirds full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
  5. For the frosting, whip together cocoa powder, butter, milk, and confectioners' sugar until fluffy. Frost the cooled cupcakes generously.
  6. Create nests using chocolate shavings or crispy noodles on top of the frosting, then decorate with candy eggs.
