Description

Gochujang mushrooms are a vibrant, flavor-packed dish that combines the earthy richness of mushrooms with the spicy sweetness of gochujang. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for any occasion, from weeknight dinners to gatherings with friends.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh shiitake or cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Clean and slice the mushrooms evenly.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and sauté for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Stir in minced garlic during the last minute of cooking.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, and lemon juice until smooth.
  5. Pour the sauce over the sautéed mushrooms and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Finish by adding chopped green onions before serving.
