- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper (to taste)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
- Sauté chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat until translucent; add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed onion and garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and parsley; mix gently until combined.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan and shape into a loaf.
- Optionally, spread extra ketchup on top for a sweet glaze.
- Bake for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
