Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, soy sauce, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Form patties and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until browned.
  3. Remove patties; add mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes.

  5. Return patties to the skillet and simmer in gravy on low heat for another 5 minutes.
  6. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice, garnished with parsley if desired.
