Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries (about 12-15)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 6 wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by washing and drying the strawberries thoroughly.
  2. Insert wooden skewers through the tops of each strawberry, aiming for three to four berries per skewer.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat, stirring until fully dissolved. Bring to a gentle simmer until it reaches soft ball stage (around 240°F).
  4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in lemon juice to prevent crystallization.
  5. Dip each skewer of strawberries into the hot syrup, allowing excess syrup to drip off before placing them on parchment paper.
  6. Let them cool completely at room temperature for a shiny finish.
