  • 4 cups day-old bread, torn into pieces
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tsp dried sage
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the torn bread pieces.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the onion and celery until tender (about 5 minutes).
  4. Add the sautéed vegetables to the bowl with the bread along with thyme, sage, salt, pepper, and beaten eggs. Mix well.
  5. Form mixture into golf ball-sized balls and place them in the greased baking dish.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
