  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 ripe mangoes (peeled and sliced)
  • Toasted sesame seeds or mung beans (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the soaked glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Drain the rice and steam it in a lined steamer for about 30 minutes until sticky and translucent.
  3. While the rice cooks, whisk together coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan over low heat until dissolved.
  4. Combine the steamed rice with half of the warm coconut sauce; mix gently and let sit for 15 minutes.
  5. Slice mangoes into thin wedges.
  6. To serve, mold sticky rice onto plates, top with mango slices, drizzle with remaining coconut sauce, and sprinkle with sesame seeds or mung beans if desired.
