- 1 lb pork shoulder, ground
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp cloves
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package (17.3 oz) puff pastry (2 sheets)
- 1 egg (for wash), beaten with 1 tbsp water
Instructions
- Sauté onions and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add ground pork and beef; cook until browned.
- Stir in cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out one sheet of puff pastry into a pie dish. Fill with the meat mixture.
- Cover with the second pastry sheet, seal edges by crimping.
- Brush with egg wash and cut slits on top for steam venting.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
