Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork shoulder, ground
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp cloves
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package (17.3 oz) puff pastry (2 sheets)
  • 1 egg (for wash), beaten with 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Sauté onions and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add ground pork and beef; cook until browned.
  2. Stir in cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out one sheet of puff pastry into a pie dish. Fill with the meat mixture.
  4. Cover with the second pastry sheet, seal edges by crimping.
  5. Brush with egg wash and cut slits on top for steam venting.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
