Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 cup Milk (warm)
  • 1/2 cup Butter (softened)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tbsp Red Food Coloring
  • 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix in softened butter, eggs, cocoa powder, red food coloring, and half of the flour; gradually add remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth; place in a greased bowl and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
  4. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter over it and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll tightly into a log; slice into 12 equal pieces.
  6. Place rolls in a greased baking dish; cover and let rise for 20 minutes before baking at 350°F (175°C) for about 25 minutes.
  7. Drizzle with cream cheese frosting before serving.

Notes

  •  Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing.
  •  Allow adequate rising time to ensure soft rolls.
  •  Consider adding vanilla or almond extract to the dough for extra flavor.
