Instructions

  4. Divide batter evenly between pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  6. For ganache, heat heavy cream until simmering; pour over chopped chocolate, let sit briefly, then stir until smooth.
  7. Assemble by layering whipped cream and cherries between cake layers, drizzling ganache on top.
