  • 1 cup orzo pasta

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cream or milk
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh sage (or ½ tsp dried)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions and minced garlic until translucent.
  2. Add chicken breasts, season with salt and pepper, and brown on each side for about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Stir in diced butternut squash, thyme, and sage; cook for another minute.
  4. Pour in orzo and chicken broth; bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 10–12 minutes until orzo absorbs most of the liquid.
  5. Stir in cream or milk, adjust seasoning if necessary, and simmer for an additional few minutes.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
