  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 24 chocolate kisses (unwrapped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients without overmixing. Gently fold in the peanut butter.
  5. Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart. Press down slightly on each ball.
  6. Bake for about 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft. Remove from oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. Let cool before serving.
