  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 24 chocolate kisses (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla.
  4. Gradually blend the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto prepared sheets, two inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  6. Immediately after removing from the oven, press a chocolate kiss into each cookie.
