- 1 packet (2¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 3 tbsp ground cinnamon
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
- Zest of 1 orange
Instructions
- Warm milk until lukewarm and combine with yeast in a bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the yeast along with eggs and melted butter.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread melted butter, sprinkle cinnamon and sugar, then roll tightly.
- Cut into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before drizzling with orange icing made from powdered sugar, orange juice, and zest.
