- 9 lasagna noodles (traditional or no-boil)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce; simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and chopped basil.
- In a greased baking dish, layer noodles, meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and remaining noodles until all ingredients are used. Top with remaining mozzarella.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
