  • 9 lasagna noodles (traditional or no-boil)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce; simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and chopped basil.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer noodles, meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and remaining noodles until all ingredients are used. Top with remaining mozzarella.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
