  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (plus extra for topping)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, ketchup (reserve some for topping), garlic powder, soy sauce, eggs, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a lined baking sheet or loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  4. Spread reserved ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serve.
