Description

Peppermint Marshmallows are a festive delight that combines airy sweetness with a refreshing peppermint twist. These homemade treats are perfect for holiday gatherings, cozy nights, or as a charming addition to desserts like hot chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1/2 cup cold water (for blooming gelatin)
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your tools: a saucepan, mixing bowl, whisk, and baking pan lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine gelatin powder with 1/2 cup cold water; let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan, mix granulated sugar, corn syrup, and 1/4 cup water. Heat over medium until dissolved and bring to a boil.
  4. Remove the sugar mixture from heat when it reaches 240°F (115°C). Pour into the mixing bowl with bloomed gelatin while whisking continuously until fluffy (approximately 10 minutes).
  5. Add peppermint extract and whisk until fully incorporated.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, smooth the top with a spatula, dust with powdered sugar, cover lightly, and let set at room temperature for at least 4 hours or overnight before cutting into squares.
