  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or dark)
  • 1/2 cup crushed pretzels
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the egg and blend until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips, pretzels, and candy canes.
  5. Drop tablespoon-sized dough onto prepared sheets, spacing them two inches apart.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden; centers should look slightly underbaked. Allow cooling on wire racks.
