  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth (for the sauce)
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker or grill to 225°F (107°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Generously rub this mixture over the brisket.
  3. Wrap the seasoned brisket in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour or overnight.
  4. Place the brisket on the grill grate, fat side up. Add wood chips for smoking and close the lid. Smoke for about one hour per pound.
  5. Check the internal temperature after several hours; it should reach around 195°F (90°C) for fork-tender meat.
  6. Remove from the grill and let it rest in aluminum foil for at least one hour before slicing.
