  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp pure almond extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup raspberry jam
  • ½ cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the almond extract.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour until combined, adjusting with additional flour if necessary for consistency.
  4. Shape small portions of dough into finger shapes, creating knuckles by pinching along the sides. Press sliced almonds onto one tip of each finger as fingernails.
  5. Place on prepared baking sheets and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden around the edges. Allow to cool before squeezing raspberry jam onto the 'nail' area for a bloody effect.
